Altered Books Class

Thursday, March 30, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

$15

Join us for a six-week class in exploring the Altered Book, meeting in the Bedford Room of Bedford Central Library on Thursday evenings. The first class will meet on March 30 from 7:00 – 8:30 pm and each Thursday thereafter. This class is co-taught by Friends of the Bedford Library Board Members, Martha Johnson and Karen Nuzzo. This exploration of the altered book art form will expose you to many techniques, but will also allow you to explore a personal theme from your own life. Use the altered book to tell your story, as only you can. Each student will create a unique and distinct new book, transforming an old book creatively. Students will need to attend all classes to learn the techniques offered. Many typical materials are provided by the teachers for shared use, but participants are also encouraged to bring in personal photos, ephemera, odd keepsakes and found objects to incorporate into their book.

Cost for the class is $15.00, payable to the Friends of the Bedford Public Library at the first class. Class is limited to 12 students. Pre-register by emailing the Friends at info@friendsofbedfordlibrary.org
