The Venue

The Friends of the Bedford Public Library, Inc. host an on-going concert series with twelve excellent quality concerts each year. The concerts are held in the Bedford Room of Bedford Central Library which seats 100 people in a 30′ by 40′ room. An 8 ‘ by 10’ stage and lighting create a performance space for musicians. Performers are guaranteed a pre-arranged fee. The acoustics and sound quality of the room are outstanding and some performers play without amplification. We prefer that performers bring their own sound system and be responsible for adjusting it. We do have a small sound system and are willing to have it available for  the use of our performers. We cannot act as sound technicians, but can help to set it up.

To be considered for the concert series please send a press kit including a recording to: The Friends of the Bedford Public Library, Inc. Attn: Programming Chair 321 North Bridge St Bedford, VA 24523. You can also email the Friends with links to your website and or publicity info. If you are invited to perform,  send us links to publicity materials. At minimum we like to have at least one high resolution photograph which we can use to generate a poster. Thank you for your interest in our concert series.

Suggested Performers or Programs

If you would like to suggest another performer or program for the Friends please e-mail the Friends Programming Chair your ideas. Links to relevant material are always helpful.  While we very much appreciate your suggestions we are not always able to afford or accommodate all performers.
